Alex Collins' Mom Runs Away With Letter Of Intent To Arkansas On National Signing Day: Report

National Signing Day might be the only day when a mother can make more headlines than her son.

Five-star running back Alex Collins, out of South Plantation High School in Plantation, Fla., had decided to attend Arkansas on Monday and was set to announce that decision at a ceremony on Wednesday. But Collins didn't show up to the ceremony, per SouthFloridaHighSchoolSports.com.

However, according to Corey Long of ESPN RecruitingNation, Collins' mother confiscated his signing documents and ran away with them. That's right. She apparently ran away and Alex is looking for her. Per the report, Collins' mom doesn't want him to leave the area to go to school.

CBSSports.com reports that Collins, one of the highest rated recruits in the nation, is expected to sign with Arkansas by the end of the day, citing a source saying "it's just going to take some time."

Last summer, Collins committed to Miami and spoke with CaneInsider about becoming a Hurricane.

If true, this wouldn't be the first time a mother makes headlines on National Signing Day. It was just last year when Landon Collins, a top rated safety prospect, announced his decision to attend Alabama over LSU. Collins' mother, sitting right next to him, was asked about her son's decision and was noticeably upset.

"I feel that LSU is the better place for him to be. LSU Tigers, number 1. Go Tigers!" she said in front of the TV cameras.

UPDATE: According to NBC 6 South Florida, Collins plans to sign with Arkansas on Thursday.
