These Celebrities Used Surrogates

Not everyone has an easy time conceiving, which makes the incredible gift of surrogacy so rewarding.

Countless numbers of celebrities have struggled to have children on their own, whether its due to medical reasons, age or personal choice. Stars like Nicole Kidman, Giuliana Rancic and Sarah Jessica Parker have been open and honest about their battles with infertility and have discussed how gestational mothers changed their lives.

Surrogates have also allowed gay couples to welcome babies and have brought joy to stars like Elton John and his husband David Furnish, as well as Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka.

Recently, Elizabeth Banks welcomed her second child via gestational surrogate -- a baby boy named Magnus, who joins big brother Felix. The actress gushed about her experience, taking to her website to thank the woman who helped make her dream of motherhood a reality.

"This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime," Banks wrote. "I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible."
