Brittany Arnett, Florida Mother Arrested For Killing Her Baby, Asked For Funeral Donations On Facebook

TRAGIC: Mother Admits To Killing Baby Boy, Asks For Funeral Donations

A Florida mother who admitted to killing her 6-month-old son, asked for donations on Facebook to pay for his funeral, WTSP reports.

A post published on 20-year-old Brittany Arnett's Facebook page on Jan. 28 -- the day of her son Hadley's death and a week before her arrest reads:

In an arrest affidavit, Arnett says she was frustrated that her boyfriend, who is not the baby's biological father, left her home alone with the infant on Jan. 27, the news outlet reports. She took out her anger on little Hadley who she injured repeatedly in his swing chair over a period of two hours. After, she yanked the baby out of the swing and shook him, according to the news outlet.

An autopsy report revealed injuries including brain hemorrhaging, separated spine, broken ribs and lacerations in the infant's mouth, according to Citrus Daily.

Arnett told police detectives she knew her son was injured but put him to bed at 10 p.m. and last heard him breathe at 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 28, according to ABC Action News. It was only when her boyfriend returned home and noticed the baby's abnormal behavior and blood in his mouth that the couple brought the 6-month-old to a nearby hospital where he later died, according to the news outlet.

Since her arrest, words of support on her Facebook page have turned ugly. Others have remained sympathetic and continue to wish their condolences, even creating a separate memorial Facebook group. Family members have also taken to the page asking for peace.

Jessica Arnett, the infant’s grandmother wrote, “Now i have to wrap my mind around what happen and i do not care how this makes me look but i will stand by my family and we are working on dealing with this thank you to all the ones who are supporting us.”
