(DETROIT) -- A Pontiac mother and her three sons escaped an apartment fire on Monday night.

Investigators theorize that someone purposely set the apartment on fire, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The apartment is located on the 50 block of South Marshall, near Auburn and South Martin Luther King Boulevard, reports the paper.
