A male teacher allegedly posed as a teenage girl on Facebook to lure boys into sending him sexually explicit photographs.
Zackary Reeder, 30, was arrested Saturday In California, the Daily Pilot reports, where police say he used a profile picture of a young, white female with blonde hair to dupe his alleged victims into exposing themselves.
Police do not believe that Reeder had face-to-face meetings with the boys, according to CBS. The alleged scheme spanned approximately two years, police say, and involved 35 alleged victims, according to KABC.
Reeder taught history at Servite High School, an all-boys Catholic school in Anaheim. He was also a baseball coach at Arnold O. Beckman High School in Irvine until last year, Patch reports.
"We are taking this investigation very seriously and are working closely with authorities. Mr. Reeder has been terminated effective immediately. Please be assured, our highest priority is the safety and well being of our students," wrote Kelly Esperias, Servite director of communications, according to KABC.
Reeder was arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct with a child, possession and distribution of child pornography, and child annoyance, according to the Daily Pilot.
