The holidays are well behind us, but if you still have your turkey baster out, there’s one place besides the kitchen that it can come in handy. In fact, it can be useful wherever you have flowers, herbs or greens in your home because it can be used as an easy way to water plants, according to Real Simple.

Simply use the baster to remove the dirty water without having to transfer the plant or disturb it at all. Then add clean water as you normally would -- how easy is that? Or you can use the tool to water the plants regularly, especially hanging ones, as Yahoo recommends.

We love when we come across tips and tricks that make simple tasks even simpler. And it’s especially fun when we find unusual uses for common household items. We’re totally thinking of investing in another baster.
