A man from Santee, South Carolina almost (onion) wrung a Burger King worker's neck over some lukewarm onion rings.
Kristopher Wiggins, 32, allegedly struck employee Framon Frasier in the head with a food tray, breaking his glasses, the Smoking Gun reported.
Wiggins was arrested and charged on Wednesday with disorderly conduct for the Jan. 29 incident, according to a Santee Police Department report.
Police say the altercation began when Wiggins' girlfriend complained of cold onion rings. Frasier reportedly insisted that the product was warm, but Wiggins demanded a refund, claiming the worker was disrespecting his girlfriend.
When Frasier asked the girl if he'd disrespected her, Wiggins allegedly snapped, becoming "loud and boisterous," and throwing the tray, according to the report.
Wiggins was let out on a $5,000 bond and is set to appear in court in late March.
2013 has not been kind to Burger King thus far.
On Monday, the Whopper-maker's Twitter account was hacked, and numerous raunchy messages were posted.
Last week, the franchise admitted that some of its burgers sold in the U.K. and Ireland were contaminated with horse meat.
And in early January, the company's largest franchisee had to pay $2.5 million to settle federal claims of sexual harassment.
