The iconic Jenni Rivera will be remembered in a special tribute at the 25th Anniversary of Premio Lo Nuestro awards show on Thursday, Feb. 21.

The show’s organizers are keeping hush the list of performers who will be part of the Jenni Rivera tribute, only releasing the name of the singer’s brother Lupillo.

Rivera was nominated for five Premio Lo Nuestro awards this year including, for her Joyas Prestadas album, Pop Album of the Year. She was also nominated in the pop category for Best Female Artist of the Year and Best Song of the Year for A Cambio de Que. In the regional music category she was nominated for Female Artist of the Year and in the general category her nomination was for Artist Premio Lo Nuestro of the Year.

The death of 43-year-old Jenni Rivera has left the her family, fans and the Latino music community in mourning. In the week following news of her plane crash in Monterrey, Mexico, sales of her albums surged 1,014 percent, according to Billboard.

Against all odds, the “Diva de la Banda’ rose to fame, creating a loyal following that adored her for her music as well as her boldness. She overcame adversity at every turn from her personal struggles as a single mother to going from victim of domestic violence to advocate.

“Thank God I am able to sing and I can convey what I feel through music,” she told Univision in 2011.

Her fans can expect an English-language pop album to be released later this year. According to MTV Tr3s, Rivera recorded a set of American songs back in 2004 and for unknown reasons the songs were never sent to her record label. No release date has been announced but Rivera’s father said a cross-over album was always her dream.

Jenni Rivera makes history at Premio Lo Nuestro

Jenni Rivera was among the bright stars at the Premio Lo Nuestro awards show, since she was first nominated in 2007. She won Best Regional Female Artist that year, repeating her success in that category six times—the most in Premio Lo Nuestro Awards history.

Rivera is among the award show’s most nominated artists this year. Romeo Santos and Prince Royce top the list of nominees with seven nominations, and Jesse & Joy, Mana and Don Omar have five nominations.

Mexican performers Ninel Conde and Pedro Fernandez will host the three-hour show that broadcasts live from Miami’s American Airlines Arena on Univision at 8 p.m. ET.

Performing in the Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony are Ricky Martin and Draco Rosa, both former members of the boy band Menudo; Romeo, Juan Luis Guerra, Don Omar, David Bisbal, Pitbull, 3BallMTY, America Sierra, Jessy & Joy, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon, Olga Tanon and Carlos Vives.

The Premio Lo Nuestro awards show celebrates the best Latin musicians in pop, tropical, regional Mexican, rock/alternative and urban music. The winners are selected by the number of votes by the public.
