Brandon Hantz was a volatile personality throughout his first run on "Survivor," so it was no surprise to see his dark side return in only the second installment of "Survivor: Caramoan." He took the elimination of Francesca Hogi during the first Tribal Council particularly hard. First, he reduced Dawn Meehan to tears, and then he declared that he was ready to go "Russell Hantz style" on his own tribe.
By the next morning, he'd calmed down and once again decided he wanted to play a nicer game. This struggle between good and evil plagued him his first time out, and previews for next week show it's going to be a back-and-forth again.
Buddy TV pointed out one fatal flaw in Brandon's plan to go "Russell Hantz style," writing, "His uncle made deceptive moves that ensured he'd get to the end, not moves that would get the entire tribe to hate him and send him packing."
HitFix didn't like the fact that Brandon and Philllip Sheppard are on the same team. They wrote that "there should never be the slightest possibility that in any group of 10, somebody can be made to look more crazy than Brandon."
The Favorites pulled out a win at the Immunity Challenge, sending the Fans to their first Tribal Council. There, Laura Alexander called Reynold Toepfer out for having a Hidden Immunity Idol and had a hand in voting out one of his alliance members, Allie Pohevitz.
The game is full on in both tribes on "Survivor: Caramoan," Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
