News of an alleged bomb threat at Grand Central Terminal was reported across Twitter accounts during the Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday night.

DNAinfo reported that the NYPD would not comment on the alleged Grand Central bomb threat, but reported that the "Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down service of its shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central on Sunday night, and briefly had 4, 5 and 6 trains bypassing the station after a bomb scare halted activity to the transit hub..."

Kristen Meriweather reports "a male called 911 claiming a bomb would explode at Grand Central Terminal." After a 30 minute search by the NYPD, no bomb was discovered.

According to a tweet that went out on @NYScanner regarding the Grand Central bomb scare, commuters were going to be evacuated:

The MTA website later wrote on their website: "Following an earlier incident at Grand Central, Times Sq, S, 4, 5 & 6 train service has resumed with residual delays."
