The hunt to save his daughter Alexis consumed Richard Castle on the latest episode of "Castle." In the process, he came face-to-face with a stranger named Jackson Hunt -- played by James Brolin -- who was unusually eager to help. When he revealed the reason why, it rocked Castle's world to the core.
It was revealed that Alexis was kidnapped as revenge on Jackson Hunt, which raised even more questions. Questions Castle demanded answers for.
"Somehow he found out who she was, who you were. And he knew I’d come for her," Hunt told him.
"Why?" Castle needed to know. "Why would you come for her?”
"Because she’s my granddaughter," Hunt said. "Richard, I’m your father."
That's right. After five years of "Castle," Rick came face to face with his father. The two even worked together to rescue Alexis, but it wasn't a completely happy ending. When it was all over, Hunt disappeared again. TV Fanatic hopes that Brolin will return in the role, writing that viewers didn't wait five years to meet Castle's dad only to have him gone in one episode. Buddy TV agreed, praising Brolin's performance.
The drama continues every Monday on "Castle" at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
