Authorities in Minnesota are searching for a woman reported missing Friday when she failed to report to her job as a store manager at the Mall of America.
An "active investigation" is underway for 30-year-old Kira Trevino, Sgt. Paul Paulos, public information officer for the St. Paul Police Department, confirmed to The Huffington Post.
On Monday, investigators discovered Trevino's white Chevy Cobalt under a parking ramp in the car lot of the famous shopping mall, KARE 11 reports. Security personnel are reviewing surveillance footage for any clues regarding Trevino's disappearance.
Trevino works as manager at Delia’s, a clothing store for teenage girls. Her husband, Jeff Trevino, is believed to be the last person to have seen her, the Wausau Daily Herald reports.
Tara Hall, a colleague who describes herself as Trevino's best friend, told the Star Tribune that it's normal for Trevino to park on the side of the mall where the car was found, but not specifically in the isolated location where police found the vehicle.
“This is very unlike her,” Hall said.
The Facebook group "FIND KIRA Trevino" describes the missing woman as 5-feet-3-inches tall and approximately 110 pounds, with shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes.
Anyone with information that could lead police to locate Trevino is encouraged to call the St. Paul Police Department at 651-266-5650. Further updates will be posted to the department's Twitter, @sppdPIO.
