Facebook, Google And Apple Pressure Supreme Court To Overturn DOMA (VIDEO)

Facebook, Apple And Google Team Up To Overturn DOMA

Over 200 tech companies, including Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, and Ebay, have partnered together to file a brief arguing against the Defense Of Marriage Act, or DOMA.

HuffPost Senior Tech Editor Bianca Bosker joined Abby Huntsman in the studio to discuss the news.

"Part of the argument that they're putting forth here is that it actually hinders their ability to really recruit and maintain really great talent," Bosker said, "because they're unable to really give their employees equal benefits that they might otherwise."

This move could put another feather in the hat of major tech companies -- some of which highlight themselves as some of the best places to work.

"Google had actually offered to cover the extra tax that homosexual couples would have to pay that their heterosexual couples would not," Bosker said, before adding that this could be another important move "in terms of the public message that it sends to their potential hires."
