'Said To Lady Journos' Tumblr Compiles Sexism Women Reporters Face

There are lots of stories out there about how much sexism -- and worse -- female reporters have to deal with. Now, a new Tumblr called "Said to Lady Journos" is compiling some of the most egregious comments tossed at women as they try to do their jobs.

A sampling:

"Now that I don't have to worry about you quoting me, I can hit on you" -- Wall Streeter to a female financial journalist at an industry party, after hearing she didn't write about his firm.

"Are you lost, little girl?" -- conference attendee to a female reporter.

"They let you carry that big lens?" -- TV photographer, to a female photojournalist carrying a 400mm lens at the scene of an accident

"I only let you back here 'cause you're hot." -- A comedian, to an entertainment reporter in Los Angeles.

New York Times reporter Amy Chozick added her own cringeworthy example on Twitter:

The blog emerged around the same time the Women's Media Center said the gender gap in journalism was reaching "crisis" levels.
