Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Wedding Rumors: PETA Says No Elephants Will Be In Attendance

There won't be any elephants in the room at Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's upcoming wedding -- literally.

Exactly how lavish a spectacle the nuptials will be is anyone's guess, but we do know one thing: Despite earlier rumors to the contrary, PETA says there will be no wildlife present at the ceremony.

The rumors first circulated after the couple's supposed florist spoke out, saying eight elephants -- one for each member of the Jolie-Pitt family -- would be present at the wedding.

"It would be out of character for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt -- a couple who clearly values family and has donated millions to safeguard land and wildlife in Africa -- to have elephants at their wedding ceremony," PETA said in a statement. "They probably realize that elephants used as props at events and in other forms of entertainment are separated from their families, kept chained most of their lives, carted from town to town, and beaten in training so that they perform on cue."

Officials from PETA proceeded to say that the animal-rights organization fully supports Jolie and Pitt. "PETA wishes the couple all the best in their life together," the statement said.

In addition to the octet of elephants, the florist reportedly said the wedding will feature a two-mile drive leading to the ceremony's location that will be punctuated with leaping Shetland ponies and elaborate fountains.

Another prominent rumor speculates that the couple will wed in May at France's Chateau Miraval, where the duo have a vineyard they'll use to release their own wine.
