The old adage that wearing white before Memorial Day is declassé has gone the way of the dinosaur. There's no reason that you can't take a page from celebrities like Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence, who all just donned white at the Oscars. All it takes is a few pieces to winterize your look.
It's important to remember that white comes in different shades: you could try a cream-colored coat, an off-white cableknit sweater and eggshell leather pants. Our only tip? Carry that Tide pen for when your lunch misses your mouth. And these pieces are easy to transition to spring: Just lose the tights and the heavy shoes in exchange for sandals or ballet flats. The best part about wearing white after Labor Day is that it's a nice surprise when everyone else is wearing black. What's not to love?
