Cool Repurposing Idea Transforms A Dish Sponge Into A DIY Ice Pack

A repurposing idea you're going to love.

We often look for new ways to use items around our homes to help us with pesky household tasks. But today, we've learned of an awesome repurposing idea from My Kitchen Escapades that uses a common kitchen product and makes it useful in a new way. Ready for it? You're going to love how simple it is to turn an old dish sponge into an ice pack.

First, soak the sponge in clean, cool water. Then, place it into a Ziploc bag. Allow it to sit overnight in the freezer and voilà! You'll now be able to keep drinks cool or ice a swollen ankle with this handy repurposing trick.

But that's not the only way to DIY a cold compress. Our own blogger Chris Barnes suggests making one by freezing some dish detergent in a plastic baggie.

Both ways will be super helpful whether you need to keep your lunch fresh or heal an injury. Plus, you'll save some cash since you'll never have to buy a ready-made one from the store again.
