If you grew up in the U.S., you were long ago acquainted with the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Even if you hated them, or if you've hit your lifetime quota, just the thought of that sandwich can bring back a flood of childhood memories. And for that alone, the sandwich's importance in our culinary scene is sealed.

But, as it turns out, jelly is not the only appropriate companion for a peanut butter sandwich. People seem to think peanut butter pairs well with all sorts of ingredients. Some of these combinations we've tried, others we can't wait to make, and some just straight-up scare us.

Do you stray from the traditional pb&j when it comes to peanut butter sandwiches? If so, do tell. Leave a comment below! 1.) Peanut Butter & Jelly 2013-03-05-4409193184_dfb6a02068.jpg
