There's a reason Anne Hathaway always does a double-take when she sees Zach Braff. The "Scrubs" star was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and talked about how he's always getting mistaken for one person or another. But the person he gets mistaken for the most is Hathaway's ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, who was put behind bars in 2008 for fraud and money laundering.
Still, you'd think all those years on television screens with "Scrubs" -- and now in syndication -- would be enough for Braff to get recognized as Zach Braff. Not to mention all those movie roles, like "Garden State" and the upcoming "Oz: The Great and Powerful." But even those who knew Follieri best can't seem to tell them apart definitively. Then there's the fact that Follieri
His worst case of mistaken identity came recently when he wanted to go congratulate Hathaway at the "Les Miserables" premiere. "I see her father make eye contact with me and he has this look on his eye like he’s just gonna f*cking kill me and his hands start to go up," Braff siad. "I get like four feet from the guy when he realized it was not, indeed, the dude who went to jail and he gave me a big, scary hug."
As for Follieri, he was released from prison and reportedly plans to ask for a Presidential pardon so he can return to the U.S. from Switzerland. If that happens, Zach Braff should maybe considering growing a beard -- or wearing a name tag.
