Jake Gyllenhaal Dating Sports Illustrated Model? A Look At His Romantic Past

Jake Gyllenhaal is rumored to be off the market once again, with reports that he's currently dating Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Emily DiDonato.

According to Us Weekly's source, the pair met at a Manhattan Soul Cycle and have been dating for "a month or two," though "sources close to Gyllenhaal" have denied the two are an item. But if they are in fact dating, we have to wonder why the 32-year-old actor would take his chance on dating someone so much younger, yet again.

DiDonato, who just turned 22, is more than a full decade younger than Gyllenhaal, and age certainly seemed to be a factor in his brief, but highly publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, who was 21 at the time they dated, making her nine years his junior. When Gyllenhaal ended his romance with Swift, a source told Us Weekly the actor "wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. He also said he could feel the age difference."

Gyllenhaal seems to have a better romantic track record for relationships when he sticks to dating ladies closer to his own age, even though before dating Swift, the "Brokeback Mountain" star dared to date a (slightly) older woman. Gyllenhaal dated actress Reese Witherspoon, who was four years his senior, from 2007 to 2009. Perhaps, the actor wanted to try his hand at dating someone so much younger, as Witherspoon reportedly "broke his heart."

We do know that Gyllenhaal isn't the type to rush into romance, since before Witherspoon, his last serious relationship was with Kirsten Dunst from 2002 to 2004, when both were in their early 20s.

In addition to his much buzzed-about relationships with Swift, Witherspoon and Dunst, the actor has also been rumored to have dated a number of actresses, including Rachel Bilson, Minka Kelly, Jenny Lewis and Natalie Portman.
