A one-time employee at Miami pop artist Romero Britto's gallery has been arrested for child pornography.

On January 31 Valeriano Torres Jr., 28, of West Kendall, was charged with 15 counts of child porn after Miami-Dade detectives reviewed a thumb drive of images, according an arrest report.

The images show "children engaged in sexual intercourse with other children and children exposing their genitalia."

Torres, cited as an artist who works at Britto Central gallery on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, admitted to the charges, police report.

Yet when detectives initially approached him, Torres said the sexually explicit images of nude children were art, according to the Miami Herald.

Britto's gallery is a popular stop on touristy Lincoln Road, and it sometimes even invites kids for events.

According to the web site, "Britto Central hosts school children for informal discussions and elaborate events encouraging free expression and cultural enrichment."

A gallery rep told the Miami Herald that Torres doesn’t work there anymore.

He is currently on house arrest on $3,00 bond.
