WASHINGTON -- Grammy-winning gospel group Sweet Honey in the Rock have a very famous and loyal fan in Michelle Obama. The First Lady stopped by the Howard Theater on Thursday night to see "one of my favorite groups in the whole wide world," as she put it when the group visited the White House in 2009.

At last night’s show, where she was spotted wearing a blue blazer and black pants, Mrs. Obama was accompanied by her mother, Marian Robinson, special adviser to the president Valerie Jarrett, and Dr. Sharon Malone, the wife of Attorney General Eric Holder, as well as six others.

Sweet Honey in the Rock performs Friday in Baltimore at the Murphy Fine Arts Center.
