Jake T. Austin Talks 'Wizards Of Waverly Place' Reunion And His New Show, 'The Fosters'

Jake T. Austin Talks 'Wizards' Reunion! (VIDEO)

The youngest Russo sibling, Max, is best known for his talent at casting catastrophic spells and pulling ridiculous pranks on his older siblings in "The Wizards of Waverly Place" -- and also for becoming one of the most lovable TV characters of all time during the show's four season run. We have a feeling Max's goofy charm has something to do with the fact that the actor who plays him, Jake T. Austin, happens to be one of the most likeable guys around.

HuffPost Teen caught up with Jake on the last day of filming for the movie “The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex," premiering this Friday, March 15 on the Disney Channel. Watch the interview in the video above.

Here are some highlights from the Q&A:

If he could go back in time and give advice to himself on the first day of filming "The Wizards of Waverly Place"...
I would probably just tell myself to relax and ease into the character more, instead of worrying about factors that I shouldn’t be worrying about. I would just go back in time and tell myself to breathe -- just breathe, inhale, exhale.

What it's like to reunite with the cast again...
Being on the set brings back a lot of memories that we had during the show, and getting to work with the cast again has brought me a lot of things that I was missing. Today being the last day of filming. It’s important to absorb everything. I think we’re all gonna miss it.

What his senior superlative would be at "Disney high school"...
I would be "most frequently in and out." I’m one of those people -- even my friends off the show say this -- my personality is always moving. I'm just always changing locations, changing who I am, what I’m doing, so it’s hard for people to really get used to me because I show up somewhere then I’m gone.

Where he thinks Max will be in 5 years...
At the end of the show, Max got the sub station, Alex got the powers and David Henrie's character went off to college, so I think if Max used the opportunities that both the writers and characters in the show have given him, I think he’ll be alright.

Max's most memorable prank on the show...
I don’t know if one particular prank sticks out in my mind, but when we went to Puerto Rico and got in trouble on the beach and a lot of spells went wrong, that was all mainly Max’s doing. He's done so many it’s hard to find one specific memory!

What we can expect from Jake in his new show, “The Fosters"...
I signed on as Jesus Foster a little while ago, and the show is scheduled to come out in early to mid-2013. It’s a great opportunity for me as an actor to try a new series and have an outlet to play this new character. It introduces a lot of new topics, some are controversial, some aren’t, and aside from who’s involved in the show creatively, it’s just a great opportunity for me to show up every day and do what I love.
