The Duggars were off to Japan in the first of three special installments of "19 Kids & Counting." Besides the usual culture shock that goes with traveling to a new country -- like language barriers and trying to figure out the local currency -- the Duggars were ovewhelmed by their first experience with a Japanese toilet.
"There’s like all these buttons. And it’s just like, wait a minute. I don’t ... definitely don’t want to hit the wrong one because, we just won’t go there," Anna said. "You almost have to be like a computer tech to figure out how to flush the toilet."
It actually turned out to be much easier than that. In fact, the flushing mechanism turned out to be much like the flushing mechanisms stateside. It was a lever. And much like many people do in the States, Anna used her foot to flush. Hollywood Life enjoyed watching the Duggars immerse themselves into the Japanese culture, despite some discomfort at times.
But Cracked.com concurred with the family about how overwhelming all those toilet buttons can be, saying that some of them can be "terrifying." They have toilets that talk, hose you down with water and even warm the seats -- sometimes to an uncomfortable degree.
