The office of Vice President Joe Biden tweeted a photo of Biden posing with "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" actress Mariska Hargitay on Wednesday.

The photo was taken before Hargitay and Biden attended a news conference in Rockville, Md., to address the need to reduce domestic violence deaths.

The photo captures Hargitay and Biden alongside Maile M. Zambuto -- CEO of Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation, which promotes domestic violence prevention and awareness -- posing for a "selfie":

Hargitay later shared more pictures of herself and Biden on her own Twitter account.

Biden said on Wednesday that the Justice Department will be offering $2 million in grants to aid the reduction of homicides from domestic violence.
