Minnesota's Mall of America is getting a swank new hotel.
The new Radisson Blu opens March 15, and is literally connected to the country's biggest shopping center. The hotel brand might be little-known in the U.S., but it's big shakes abroad, where it's known for luxe lodging a step above a standard issue Radisson.
The Mall of America location will have 500 rooms, plenty of event and meeting space, an indoor pool and, perhaps most critically, a skybridge that connects directly to the shopping center. An in-house restaurant promises "regional Minnesota cuisine inspired by the flavors of real burning wood," according to a Radisson press release.
It will be the second Blu in the States, after the flagship Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago. A third will open this year in Philadelphia.
