Earlier this month, we read about the different types of Italian food that you'd never actually see in Italy. (That, and these Olive Garden dishes that aren't really Italian either.)
So, that got us thinking: What other types of culinary inaccuracies are being pawned off on us? Our minds went immediately to Chinese food which can vary as much from block to block as it does from East to West.
It's true that much of what we eat here can, at least, be traced back to China somehow, but many dishes, ingredients and preparations took on a life of their own once on our shores. Here are a few of those dishes that don't quite translate.
