Lost Cat Book Depicts San Francisco Through The Eyes Of A Cat (INFOGRAPHIC)

When a lost cat comes home, most pet owners would invest in a new collar. When Tibia the cat returned from a five week hide-out, her owners bought tracking devices and cameras.

The Result? A new book titled "Lost Cat: True Story Love Desperation and G.P.S. technology." The story is the product of a partnership between local artist Wendy MacNaughton and Caroline Paul.

MacNaughton and Paul used the best technology on the market to retrace the steps of their cat. They invested in GPS devices, kitty cameras and animal communicators to learn more about Tibia's expeditions.

After completing the extensive research, MacNaughton developed a map of San Francisco as seen from the perspective of the cat. Forget NoPa and the Financial District; feline hoods include "fright," "fear" and "dread." Take a look:

The book will be released April 9 with a party at Booksmith on Haight Street. Check out more of MacNaughton's illustrations below:
