'19 Kids': Michelle And Girls In Traditional Japanese Kimonos, Makeup

The Duggars continued their tour of Japan on "19 Kids and Counting," with the ladies taking on a startling transformation. At least, it was startling for all of the younger kids. The women were dressed in traditional Japanese kimonos and makeup, which dramatically changed their appearances.

The change was so drastic that the smaller children almost couldn't recognize their mother. Even when they did, they weren't sure about what was going on with her, and were hesitant to go to her.

"Me and Jennifer didn’t like it and I didn’t go to my mommy," Mackynzie said.

"We didn’t like how they looked," Jennifer agreed.

But the women clearly had fun immersing themselves in the local culture. Why not experience Japan as fully as possible while there. Maybe in a few years the little ones will look at pictures of their mom in a kimono and appreciate it more.

Next week, the Duggars' Asian trip moves to China on "19 Kids and Counting," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
