The Easiest Way To Spring Clean Your Mattress (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

One of the most essential parts of spring cleaning is freshening up your mattress. But it's not exactly the easiest task to accomplish. Luckily, Real Simple has a great shortcut for cleaning your mattress, so you can get on with the rest of your day.

First, remove and clean the mattress cover, if there is one. Once the wash cycle is complete, throw it in the dryer with a few tennis balls to give it back its bounce. Next, dust the entire mattress with baking soda. And then, remake the bed as normal.

This is a pretty quick way to make your mattress smell and feel like new again. But if you're not exactly into cutting corners, HowCast has a couple of tips on how to thoroughly spruce up your bed, and it won't take much time.

Watch the video above to see HowCast's tricks and be sure to head over to Real Simple for full instructions. Don't forget to click through our slideshow for more cleaning and organizing tricks, and check out our spring cleaning checklist for your kitchen to get that area in gear.
