What makes science and technology cool? These girls have got an answer for you.

As part of L'Oreal USA's Why STEM Is Cool Contest, more than 150 girls submitted homemade videos aimed at inspiring and empowering girls to enter the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The challenge is organized by L'Oreal's For Girls In Science website, which hosts a wealth of information and interactive tools for girls interested in science fields.

Throughout the month of February, girls submitted videos showing why they think science is cool, and L'Oreal has recently announced 32 finalists (8 in each STEM category). Visitors can vote for their favorite video submission online now. Voting ends March 25th.

The winner, which will be announced on April 3, will win a $2,500 cash award, a new 16GB Tablet, and $500 worth of L’Oréal USA beauty products.
