Earlier this week, we ran a post by Brittany Gibbons that attracted a lot of attention. Why? Because Brittany did something that took real courage: Not only did she push herself to try on bikinis, she shared pictures of herself wearing said bikinis on the Internet. "Putting on a bikini was so much harder than just, well, putting on a bikini," she wrote.
Here at HuffPost Women, we believe that you don't have to be a certain size to hit the beach in a swimsuit -- Margaret hates the term "bikini body" even more than she hates "summer hair" -- but we know that it's hard to put that belief into practice when you actually put on your suit. So we were impressed by Brittany's boldness and think she was absolutely right to feel "confident and positively gorgeous." We were also glad to see that we're not alone in our feelings on the subject. We smiled this week when Sarah Walker mocked the expression on Twitter: "Never understood why women want a bikini body. A body shaped like a bikini? That's just horrific."
