Caylend Childs, Illinois Seventh Grader, Has 'Fag' Written On His Neck By Classmate: Report

WATCH: Illinois Student Allegedly Has Horrific Gay Slur Written On His Neck By Classmate

The mother of a seventh grade student claims that a student wrote an anti-gay slur on her son's neck in permanent marker, the latest in what she believes to be a string of bullying incidents.

As KTVI is reporting via Fox 2, Caylend Childs spent an entire day at Illinois' Mason Clark Middle School with the word "fag" written on his neck.

“He was resting his head on his desk and a boy wrote it on his neck,” Caylend's mother Ruth Childs told the news station. “He did not know it was there, but all the kids were laughing at him. It was written in permanent marker.”

Ruth said her son was also attacked by bullies in a school bathroom earlier this year, while school officials noted that each incident has been "investigated and the students responsible were immediately disciplined according to district guidelines.”

In January, a gay Oregon teen was taken off of life support after hanging himself in the playground of a local elementary school and died shortly thereafter. Komo News reports that 15-year-old Jadin Bell attempted suicide by climbing on a playground structure and hanging himself.
