Whether you want to get your church on at the Hollywood Bowl (without waking up before sunrise!), feel like a fabulous brunch with friends, or want to enjoy fun family time in the great outdoors, there’s a whole lot going on this Easter weekend around LA and OC.
Does your iguana, cow, duck, goat, dog, cat, bird, or other non-human friend need some divine intervention? Well, your prayers have been answered. Bring your pet to this beloved annual event (it’s been a tradition since 1930) on Saturday, March 30, from 12pm-5pm where Cardinal Roger Mahoney will offer a blessing over your animal. There will also be live music and entertainment, a petting zoo, free pony rides, not to mention all that tasty Mexican food. #Lovez!
Call it Holy-wood Bowl. Celebrate the real reason for Easter at this free service led by Bel Air Presbyterian with a worship choir, orchestra, band and guest speaker Francis Chan, best-selling author of Crazy Love. Unlike years past, there will be no sunrise service, so you can sleep in (Amen!). Doors open at 9am, service begins at 11am. Box seats will not have tables, but concession stands will be open serving breakfast and lunch items.
Celebrate Easter a day early in Downtown LA at the Pershing Square Free Community Egg Hunt. The celebration will include prizes, inflatables, children’s entertainment and arts & crafts on Saturday, March 30 from 12pm-3pm. Check the website for start times of each egg hunt for each age group.
This popular yearly event goes on Easter weekend Friday-Sunday 10am-4pm with lots of kid-friendly activities. Pet a fuzzy bunny, plant your own carrot, have your face painted, make fun crafts, have your photo taken with Big Bunny for a small fee, and enjoy musical entertainment. The event is free with paid zoo admission.
If you wanna feed your spirit and your body, get over to Live Church LA’s free community service on Easter Sunday at Nokia Plaza @ LA Live. Service starts at 10am with free coffee, donuts and orange juice, followed by a family festival from 12pm-2:30pm with arts and crafts, face painting, Easter egg hunt and photos with the Easter bunny. And yes, it’s all free! (Even the parking in the East Garage. Now that’s a first.)
The annual Easter Hunt and Family Fun Day returns to the Huntington Beach Sports Complex on Saturday, March 30 (the day before Easter) from 9am to 3pm. Bring the whole family for live music, games, vendors, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting and egg hunt. Children up to 10 years old are invited to hunt for candy and meet the city’s police and firemen. Admission is free, parking is $2 in Sports Complex lot.
This resort and water park is hosting its annual Easter weekend celebration. Starting on Friday, March 29 there will be Easter crafts, egg decorating and an outdoor BBQ. Saturday is when you can enjoy a pancake breakfast buffet followed by a pizza party later in the evening. Easter Sunday kicks off with a bike ride parade in the RV park and brunch at Back Bay Bistro.
