The newly engaged Jamie Lynn Spears has a new haircut.

After sporting a below-the-shoulder style for years, Spears cut her blond hair into a bob late last week, according to Us Weekly. She tweeted at her followers about her decision to chop off her long blonde hair and then posted a photo of the final results to Instagram shortly thereafter.

Spears captioned the photo with "#shorthairDontcare."

She is following in the footsteps of her older sister, Britney, who recently dyed her platinum blond hair a soft brown.

The 21-year-old Jamie Lynn, who used to wear long hair extensions, might have opted for the shorter new 'do in preparation for her upcoming nuptials.

Spears announced her engagement to boyfriend Jamie Watson, 30, on March 3 and posted an Instagram photo showing off the round-cut sparkler he got her. She and Watson have been dating for three years. No wedding date has been revealed.

This will be the first marriage for the former Nickelodeon star and country music singer. She has a 4-year-old daughter, Maddie, with her ex-fiance, Casey Aldridge.
