Kathy Griffin Addresses Rumor She'll Be Joining 'The View' On 'Watch What Happens: Live' (VIDEO)

Kathy Griffin On Rumors She's Joining 'The View'

Kathy Griffin stopped by the "Watch What Happens: Live" clubhouse to address those rumors that she's set to replace Joy Behar on "The View." Behar announced earlier this month that she's leaving the daytime talk show at the end of the season. Since then, speculation has run rampant about who will replace her.

There is that matter of Barbara Walters banning Griffin from the show. It's something that's been done off and on for years now based on jokes and comments Griffin has made about Walters during her stand-up routines.

Griffin didn't do herself any favors in that department by doing an impression of Barbara Walters on "WWHL." She imagined Walters waiting in the car while Griffin was on the show. "‘I really wish she would leave," Griffin said as Walters. "She’s been sitting here with the table making comments that are inappropriate and if she’s part of the table, I’m going to have to wait in the car."

But Griffin has other projects in the fire, including a pilot she just filmed for CNN with Anderson Cooper. The two have become a strange hit for the network on New Year's Eve, so why not capitalize on their on-screen chemistry. The new show was humor-based and filming in front of a live audience.

As for "The View," there are other names floating around the rumor mill. The New York Daily News reports that Gloria Estefan and Brooke Shields are on the short list of people to replace Behar next season.
