Daft Punk will not be performing at Coachella. A rep for the famed electronic duo tells Rolling Stone that despite the fact that VEVO listed them as performing in Indio, Calif. on one of the first weekend's days, there are no plans for Daft Punk to appear at the festival.

This year's path to Coachella (which takes place across two weekends in April) has been rife with speculation. Daft Punk was among the acts initially rumored to perform before the line-up was released. The group last played the festival in 2007. The Rolling Stones were also said to be in talks with organizers, who even posted a photo of a large stone lying in the grass of the Indio Polo Fields. But alas, that was not meant to be.

Most of these rumors were started by digital outlets. The aforementioned VEVO slip-up must have driven a healthy amount of traffic to the music video platform, and SongKick sparked initial rumors of Daft Punk and the Rolling Stones. The latter site sent out an email alert that included those acts as well as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Phoenix, who did end up making the line-up.

Daft Punk recently announced the release date and title of their forthcoming album, "Random Access Memories." The highly anticipated record has been teased through a series of television ads aired during "Saturday Night Live." In the clips, a preview of a funky track accompanies an animation of the group's logo (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's helmets) coming together. The album is available for pre-order now and is out May 21.
