Two California Lottery Tickets Each Worth $264,000 Picked In Mega Millions Draw

It was a very happy holiday for two Californians this weekend.

Two customers each drew winning Mega Millions lottery tickets -- worth $264,531 each -- over the weekend, CBS reports. One ticket was purchased at Daily Donuts in Walnut, which is east of Los Angeles. The other was purchased at Adobe Liquors in San Pablo, which is north of San Francisco.

No one bought a ticket with all six matching numbers for the $34 million jackpot so the amount rises to $42 million for Tuesday's draw, Patch reports.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands and cost just $1.

If you win, you can choose to receive the prize in a lump sum or in 26 annual payments. The odds of winning the jackpot is about 1 in 176 million, according to the lottery's web site.
