Stephen Colbert joined hordes of conservatives across the nation who were outraged that Google dared to celebrate Cesar Chavez's birthday, and not Easter, as its Google Doodle on Sunday.
As HuffPost's Jason Linkins pointed out, it's a bit odd that a Google Doodle is seen as an arbiter of national mood. But plenty were offended by the exclusion of Easter (despite the fact that Google hadn't featured the holiday for about 13 years). It was all Stephen needed to point out that the War on Easter is a very real battle.
He quipped that Chavez, the founder of the United Farm Workers, "has nothing to do with Jesus' tradition of celebrating jelly beans and plastic grass!"
As if that wasn't enough, it seems that Easter is being attacked from within, by Pope Francis. Watch the above clip to see Stephen rail against all of Easter's enemies.
