Heath Ledger, who tragically died of an accidental prescription drug overdose on Jan. 22, 2008, would have turned 34 today.
The Oscar-winning actor starred in a handful of beloved films, including "10 Things I Hate About You," "Brokeback Mountain" and "The Dark Knight," for which he posthumously won his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
But perhaps his proudest accomplishment was welcoming his daughter Matilda Rose with ex-girlfriend, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger's little girl is now 7 years old, but was only 2 when he died.
"Matilda has the same walk as Heath and is such a respectful little kid," Ledger's dad Kim told Australia's New Idea magazine earlier this year. "Our family has the most wonderful relationship with both Matilda and Michelle; we talk frequently and visit as often as we can."
Adds his mom Sally, "It has been an extremely difficult five years, as not a day goes by when we don't feel the immense loss of Heath."
