She may play royalty on televison, but actress Lena Headey claims she's broke in real life.
The 39-year-old "Game of Thrones" star tells TMZ that her finanical situation is so bad, she has "less than $5 in her bank account," and is desperately waiting for her tax refund to cover living expenses.
According to TMZ, Headey recently filed legal documents in response to her soon-to-be ex's demands for half of their $46,000 tax refund from 2011. The actress claims she needs at least $6,000 from that refund in order to pay for daily expenses, as she says she's currently living off her credit cards.
It's unclear how the former couple will split the tax return, as a judge denied Loughran's request for half of the money, and he also threw out Headey's proposal to give her ex $6,000 to cover his own expenses, and place the rest in a blocked bank account until their divorce is settled.
Headey's financial situation is rather puzzling, given that she stars on a hit TV show, and has a new movie out in theaters next month. The star did however put her three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom Hollywood Hills home on the market for $1.35 million this past May. When the star sold it at that price in November, she took a loss of $450,000, after she originally paid $1.8 million for it in 2008.
