If your boyfriend has a close relationship with his mother, it's difficult not to feel like second best. Relationship expert Rachel Sussman joined me on Mondays With Marlo to tackle this tricky situation. Often, tension builds in couples when one partner hasn't really separated from their parents or siblings when in a relationship. The best way to handle this, Rachel said, is to speak with your partner calmly -- without acting jealous or shaming him -- and explaining that if he can handle a relationship with his mom differently, you two can become closer.
