Jon Stewart surveyed the new-look CNN on Thursday's "Daily Show." Surprise, surprise: he didn't like what he saw.
Saying that the network has typically "represented neither the left nor the right but rather more of a steady spiral downward," Stewart wanted to know what was going on at CNN a few months into new chief Jeff Zucker's tenure. He zeroed in on such moments as Tom Foreman's inadvertently R-rated encounter with a virtual missile, and the random reenactment of the Jodia Arias murder scene, deriding both with vigor.
Stewart then turned to "(Get To) The Point," CNN's newest panel show. He said that the title could be seen as a message to the entire network.
"I see what happened. You mistook what people are constantly yelling at the television when they watch CNN as a show pitch," he said, adding that it was better than "Why Is This Even On Television" or "Please God Someone Help Me Find The Remote The TV's Stuck On CNN And I Can't Change The Channel."
