Colton Ellis, New Dad, Arrested In Child Sex Sting, Had 'Every Intention Of Having Sex'

New Dad In Child Sex Sting: 'What Was I Thinking?'

A man allegedly caught in a child sex sting admitted to police that he is a new father with an infant waiting for him at home.

Colton Ellis, 20, was arrested in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Thursday when he arrived at a house where he thought a juvenile girl was waiting, the Sun Sentinel reports. Upon arrest, Ellis allegedly admitted that he wanted to have sex with a juvenile and said, "I have a 6-week-old baby at the house, what was I thinking?"

Police say he had been talking to the girl -- actually an undercover officer -- online, and the two arranged to meet at her house. WESH reports that he texted on the way to tell the girl that he picked up condoms.

Ellis told officers that he brought condoms because he had "every intention of having sex" and that he "should have known better but was just horny," according to police reports.

On top of his apparently willing confession, Ellis admitted to having marijuana in his car, according to the News-Journal.

Ellis is charged with using a computer to solicit a child, traveling to solicit a child, and use of a computer to commit a felony.
