Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel dropped by Rangers Ballpark to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the team's home game against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday night. Johnny Football might have been better keeping the ball and running it in on this particular play.
The Aggies superstar trotted out from the Rangers dugout and took the hill as first baseman Mitch Moreland set up behind the plate. Manziel's throw was high and outside, dragging Moreland away from the plate to catch it.
Manziel shrugged it off and attributed the errant toss to a case of the nerves.
"Every person kept saying, 'Don't bounce it, don't bounce it,'" Manziel told USA Today Sports. "I was wild, a little nervous."
Luckily for Manziel, Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson threw a ceremonial first pitch in Detroit just a few days later that was much, much worse.
