Out magazine published its annual "Power 50" list on Wednesday and featured multiple members of the media.
The 7th annual list, which was created by Out editors, ranks "the gay men and women whose power and prestige is instrumental in influencing the way Americans think about, and engage with, the world." The list included men and women in various industries, including politics, news, entertainment, technology, advocacy and more.
Like last year, Ellen Degeneres was named the second most powerful gay person in the U.S. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, CNN's Anderson Cooper and Fox News' Shep Smith were also in the top 10. At the time of last year's list, Cooper, who ranked in the top 10, had not publicly commented on his sexuality. He publicly came out last summer.
