WASHINGTON -- News flash: It's hot outside. Really, really hot.

Yesterday D.C. set a record high for April 10 as the thermometer hit 90 degrees at Reagan National Airport, the official weather observation station for Washington. It was our first 90 degree April day since 2010.

While there are plenty of ways you should cool down -- drink lots of water, stay out of the sun, exercise outside peak hours -- one of our favorite ways to beat the heat is eating plenty of ice cream.

You won't find frozen yogurt or gelato on this list -- although we love those, too --just 100 percent classic ice cream. (So long, Gifford's!)
