Martin Rietze's Time-Lapse Video Captures Sunset To Sunrise Atop Germany's Highest Mountain, The Zugspitze (VIDEO)

WATCH: What The World Looks Like From Germany's Tallest Mountain

Martin Rietze, the artist behind a recent photography series on volcanic eruptions, is an avid explorer of the uncharted world. From the cusps of lava-spewing caverns to the tops of the world's highest landforms, the daring photographer is keen on snapping shots of the sublime pockets of planet Earth, no matter how terrifying the process might be.

His recent project took him to the peak of Germany's tallest mountain, the Zugspitze, where he captured a stunning time-lapse video of the view from above the clouds. According to The Guardian, he stationed his DSLR camera atop the nearly 10,000 foot mass and shot the changing sky from sunset to sunrise, documenting the gradual transformation from a golden horizon to a deep purple dawn.
