Season 3 of "Awkward" means it's junior year for Jenna. It also meant plenty of changes were happening around her. After a summer trip to Europe, Tamara came back with a new hair color, a new appreciation for life and a deeper commitment to Jake. So much so that she practically abandoned her friendship with Jenna.
This was especially tough for Jenna, as she was going through a potential life-changing event herself. For a couple of days, Jenna thought she might be pregnant. She didn't tell Matty, and then shared a euphoric relief with her mother when it turned out she wasn't.
Sadie revealed that her family was broke, which seemed to push her into a cycle of binging and purging. But the biggest change to rock the school was the shocking death of Ricky Schwartz. He apparently had a peanut allergy no one knew about, and died from an allergic reaction.
While Ricky's death brought the class closer together -- even if it was to ultimately bond over how much many of them hated him -- it proved disastrous for Jenna and Matty. Feeling buzzed, Jenna slipped to Jake about her pregnancy scare, who told Matty. Upset that Jenna hadn't told him, Matty confronted her and then stormed off. Hollywood Life wondered if this could be the beginning of the end for the couple.
Series star Ashley Rickards told HuffPost that fans should expect a lot more drama for Jenna in the upcoming season. She called junior year a "life changer" for her character.
Take the journey with her on "Awkward" every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
