On April 18th, TIME released its annual list of 100 Most Influential People. Women make up just over one-third of the list -- 35 percent to be exact.
Although we'd like to see the number of women on the TIME 100 list grow, we're seriously excited about the 35 women being honored this year. These women include activist Malala Yousafzai, our TV and body image hero Lena Dunham, funny girl Mindy Kaling, First Lady Michelle Obama and everyone's pretend BFF Jennifer Lawrence.
On top of being completely inspired by each and every one of these women, we also wish that all of them were our friends, mentors and confidantes in real life. (We are seriously convinced that if Lena only met us she would love us.) We'd like to imagine that they were all hanging out when they found out they were being honored. We guess it would have looked like this:
Jennifer Lawrence was all...
And Mindy Kaling was like...
Meanwhile, Jenna Lyons remained unfazed.

Lena Dunham got super excited, but definitely wasn't gonna be lady-like about it.
Sheryl Sandberg infused the celebration with hard dose of reality. (After all, the number 35 could be a whole lot higher.)

And Malala Yousafzai used the moment to continue spreading her invaluable message.

Then Beyonce decided that it was time to get the party started...
And Michelle Obama obviously joined in -- with her pal, Jimmy.
At the end of the evening, Kate Middleton gave everyone a princess-appropriate round of applause.
Well done, ladies.
